Taylor Patterson

Self Invested Personal Pensions

For those who are not directors of family owned companies- for whom a SSAS may be more suitable - and who want a greater degree of control over the management of their pension and more investment flexibility and choice, the Taylor Patterson SIPP is the solution. It is ideally suited to: -

  • Self-employed, fee earning professionals (sole traders or partners).
  • Non-shareholding directors and other high earning employees.
  • Those approaching retirement and wanting to consolidate their pensions into a single flexible arrangement.

In addition to all the tax benefits of personal pensions, SIPPs avoid the deficiencies of insured schemes and provide the following key benefits:

  • The Member of the Taylor Patterson SIPP is appointed a Trustee and therefore has control of the scheme assets.
  • Commercial property can bought and leased back to the business or let as an investment to a third party.
  • Commercial property can be purchased from the member or any connected party.
  • The freedom to borrow to assist with acquiring commercial property and other investments.
  • Costs are explicit and generally less than insured arrangements.
  • Considerable flexibility in the way benefits can be taken at retirement avoiding the necessity to purchase an annuity.

As a result SIPPs are often the cornerstone of wealth management for sole-traders, partners other high earners and those approaching retirement.

Taylor Patterson offers three SIPP packages to suit the needs of most, if not all, of those who wish to take advantage of the flexibility that SIPPs offer.

The Cash SIPP

This accepts transfers from other pensions arrangements and contributions to be held on a pensions bank account pending the member making a decision to invest in market securities and/or property. It is a simple matter to convert the Cash SIPP into either the Investor or Master SIPP.

Investor SIPP

Ideally suited to those wanting to invest in stocks and shares, unit trusts and managed funds and other market securities and either manage their own investments or appoint an investment manager to manage all or part of their portfolio on their behalf.

Master SIPP

This SIPP provides all the facilities of the Cash and Investor SIPPs but has the added attraction of enabling investment in property.

Each SIPP has a different fee structures and, therefore, clients can select the SIPP most appropriate to their circumstances and not pay for facilities not required. Particulars of each SIPP are given in the Key Features Documents available on our website.
